Verizon Wireless recently announced that they’ve added local news to their lineup of mobile content available through V-Cast. My Local TV News video channel is now available on Verizon Wireless’ V CAST Video service.
“The local news, weather and sports coverage that My Local TV News provides is perfect for the V CAST Video service. It gives Verizon Wireless customers access to the information they need and use every day, directly from the local stations they know and trust,” said Sam Matheny, general manager of News Over Wireless. “V CAST is a great way to reach viewers who want local news content that fits with their busy lives.”
V CAST Video customers can access My Local TV News in the News category. From there, customers can choose their U.S. region and city, then the individual station. To date, News Over Wireless has partnered with more than 80 TV stations to deliver local TV news content, formatted for mobile phones, including CBS, ABC, NBC and FOX affiliates. Its partner stations reach almost 70 percent of the total U.S. market.
