HTC Rolls Out Touch Diamond 2 and Touch Pro 2 Mobile Phone

HTC recently introduced two new smartphones, the Touch Diamond 2 and the Touch Pro 2 over at the MWC 2009. Both devices are expected to create new user experience in using text, email and voice. Both of devices come with new advanced intuitive user interface and stylish looks.

A Glance at the First Google G1 Phone

Yesterday was an important day for Google as it officially announced the debut of its first ever Google G1 Phone powered by open source mobile operating system, Android. This device is expected to hit the US market on October 22nd with the price tag of $179 (bound by a 2-year contract), before making its way to the UK in November and soon expands to the European market by early of 2009.

There are mixed up feelings to those who have the opportunity to test the smartphone. While there are lot of exciting things being mentioned like the sleekness of the G1 phone which is definitely an attractive element for consumers, there are few minor drawbacks that can be seen like scrolling and zooming isn’t as smooth as what you might expect. Apart from there is no headphone jack included with no iTunes support.

Having said that, Gmail fans will be happy to know that there would be extensive support in Android for Gmail which allow users to find their messages on the fly and there will be “integrated online presence with Google Talk.” Google Maps - Street View will be available too!

The question is whether G1 will really beat the iPhone?

HTC Touch Diamond passes FCC

Yet another version of the HTC Touch Diamond has passed through the FCC recently, dubbed the ‘DIAM110′. While there is no confirmation in the FCC documents that this model will be carried by AT&T, the presence of dual-band UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA (850/1900MHz) support is a good indication that AT&T is its intended recipient.

The HTC Touch Diamond is a stylish handset with a large touchscreen display and 3.2 megapixel camera. HTC’s finger-friendly TouchFLO user interface makes using the handset a breeze, and Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional allows the handset to keep you organized on the go.

HTC Verizon XV6900

The Verizon XV6900 is based on the same HTC Vogue hardware. The new Verizon XV6900 is 2mm longer than the original GSM device; still relatively small for a smartphone with these capabilities and pretty light for a Pocket PC smartphone.

Its compact dimensions and the smooth lines of the XV6900's white body, makes the XV6900 one of the most comfortably held Pocket PC devices ever made. The 77mm long stylus is not going to please a lot of people though, as it is too short to be comfortably used for an extended period of time.

Not like other stylus compatible touchscreens, the display on the XV6900 is flush mounted to its body, and the touch sensitive surface extends well beyond the limits of its resolution limit that is 240x320 pixels. The only thing that bugging the users is probably the display that can be a little bit hard to read under the sunlight.

HTC Verizon XV6900 is equipped with a 2 megapixel camera and self-portrait mirror that are located on the back cover. The back cover can be easily removed to expose the battery and it allows memory can to be inserted into the unique microSD card slot cover on the right edge of the phone.

The Verizon XV6900 for Verizon comes with a small case, an extra stylus, and a splitter for charging while using a 2.5mm wired headset at the same time. A power adapter, USB cable, and screen protector are also included in the kit.
